A little over a year ago, I purchased a 2003 BMW M3. One of the things about this car I quickly noticed was its braking power. The brakes on this car seem like they could stop the rotation of the earth. By comparison, my Z's Wilwood brakes can't hold a candle to these brakes. My Z has had nearly every braking piece replaced and they still can't stop as well as this M3. I've done a lot of research on motorcycle brakes to retrofit my 1993 Honda CBR900RR. Its stock brakes are pathetically weak, so I've purchased a bigger BMC and calipers from a 2001 Honda RC51. They bolt right up so when I get around to installing them I should have phenomenal braking (I've owned an RC51 in the past and they brake very well). What I found with my 900RR is that it was fitted with one of the smallest BMC's in the industry. WHY??? I'm wondering if the braking could be improved on my Z with an upgraded BMC? Does anyone know of an aftermarket BMC that would improve braking power for our cars? I searched this site but found nothing. Hard to believe after all these years that there isn't any aftermarket BMC available...
